Brief Answer:
A number of causes

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but this could be due to a number of causes , the most common of which is renal insufficiency and thyroid hormone imbalance. So, I would recommend that you get a blood test to check on your renal functions including urea and creatinine together with a blood test to check on your thyroid hormone profile including T3, T4 and TSH.. I hope you find this helpful

Hi Dr,
I have obtained a CBC, Comprehensive metabolic panel, TSH and free T4... All labs are within normal limits. My internist still thinks its viral.
I am still suffering with the same symptoms. with no real improvement over the past few days.
The malaise and diffuse back pain are nocturnal coming on around 5 PM and lasting till the next morning.
I am still weak and my appetite is suppressed and have lost about 8 pounds in the last three weeks.
What now could you recommend to obtain a diagnosis. Thank you, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Ct scan

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, hello again.. Since the performed tests were normal and you suffer from progressing weight loss then please get a blood test to check on renal functions including urea and creatinine together with abdominal and pelvic ct scan to exclude tumor formation. I hope you find this helpful
