Question: Hi Doctor,

Continuing the discussion from where we left off -

My mother got operated last Friday.

1) She was not given LA which led to lot of pain? Why LA is not given?
2) The doctor could not finish off the operation due to the pain and again asked t come another day. He told he repaired the major defects but had to work on the small ones

Hey thanks for the follow up. Its not a surgery perse its a procedure and even in surgery these days LA is given in form of drops and not injections as it doesn't pain much and for laser per se I have never used injections . It is okay as different patients have different pain perceptions so maybe your patient had pain and was unable to cooperate but what he has told you is right . The laser needs to be finished and can be done on the date given. You can give you mom a painkiller before the laser . It might help with the pain .Hope my answer helps . Regards
