Hi Doctor, I Am A 27 Year Old Male And

I am a 27 year old male and for the past 4 months I have had a noticeably drastic change in the frequency and the quality of my erections. I was wondering how can I know if this is caused by an organic physical problem or if this is a psychological problem.
My symptoms have been:
1. Not getting an erection as often as I would like/used to
2. Not having morning erections daily like I used to
3. My erections go down quickly now. As soon as I am not aroused I lose my erection which is not what used to happen
4. Even during masturbation I am having these issues so i don't think it is performance anxiety
5. i am ejaculating prematurely sometime now (even during masturbation which leads me to believe this is a physical issue). I am not over excited. I just feel my ejaculate coming out faster now.
This is made me extremely depressed and disappointed. I can't find anything online that explains these symptoms or that has an explanation as to why a healthy 27 year old male would be having these issues.
I told my doctor this and they measured my testosterone which came back normal. He is refusing to do ny other testing since he thinks it is all in my head but I am having all of these symptoms that say otherwise. plus, I don't think anxiety is that strong where it would only effect my erections and nothing else in my body.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
It could be due to your unhealthy lifestyle.
Detailed Answer:
Hi sir,
Welcome to Ask a doctor service,
I have gone through your query in detail and can certainly understand your concern towards your symptoms.
As you are having disturbance with early morning erections, it could be some erection problem.
But, as far as your harmone level is considered, it came normal.
So, nothing to worry.
You can try with some antidepressants like escitalopram, and phosphodiesterase inhibitors like tadalafil for better performance.
Some healthy lifestyle changes like daily physical activity, proper nutritious diet with fruits, vegetables, dry fruits, can be advised.
You can consult your psychiatrist regarding prescription based medicine.
Hope this information would help you.
Thank you.

I have a healthy lifestyle. I excersise 4 times a week, I have always eaten a lot of fruits and vegetables, I don’t smoke cigarettes and I am also not on any medication. I honestly don’t know what could be causing this. It is very depressing and inconsistent. One moment I could get erections perfectly and the other moment I can’t. Is there a link between a mans mind and his erections?
Yes, it could be psychologically related.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back,
I understand that you are following healthy lifestyle, so you can continue that.
Yes, definitely sexual functioning is related to brain neurochemicals.
So, because of psychological disturbances, sexual functioning gets effected.
So you can consult psychiatist .
Hope this information would help you.
Thank you.

how can I test by myself that this is a psychological problem and not a physical problem? my doctors don't even want to take any physical tests...
My suggestion.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back,
I have gone through your follow up query and can certainly understand your concern.
Yes, it can be easily explained whenever you are worried more about sexual performance, it would get affected because of anxiety. So, by that it can be ruled whether it is psychological or not.
I hope you are wrong in declaring that psychiatrist just prescribes medicine, as the point in this case to advise medicine is to rule out any major structural problems as you would not get response with the medicine, of you have any.
The most available, advisable investigations for your problem is serum testosterone levels as it was already done, another could be scrotal Doppler which is indicated for varicocele if you have any.
Hope this information would help you.
Thank you.
