Hi Doctor, I Got My Health Check Up Completed Recently.

Question: Hi Doctor, I got my health check up completed recently. I am attaching the report I have received from the laboratory. I don't want to get panic looking at the numbers in the report. So, wanted to get the guidance from the experts on how the report looks. I don't have an option to send the complete report. So, attaching few screenshots from the summary. Let me know if I can forward the entire report to your Gmail ID. Thanks very much in advance.
Brief Answer:
Incomplete reports...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I went through the uploaded reports. It seems like the reports are incomplete. There are few abnormalities noted in the report screen shot. I would like to review the whole set of tests before commenting.
If the complete test report file is under 5MB, I think you can be able to upload it here. Else you may mail it to YYYY@YYYY with subject as "Attn: Dr. Prasad
Awaiting your reply...
Regards

It's a PDF Report. This app accepts just images with JPG and PNG extensions. So, I mailed as you recommended. Let me know if it has reached you.
Brief Answer:
Need evaluation and monitoring...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Apologies for the late reply. I went through your detailed reports with diligence. Let me brief you.
As per your reports there are a few abnormalities noted such as elevated blood sugar, slightly deranged lipids, mentzer index, low eGFR as well as deficient vitamin D value. However in my opinion, the significant and that needs attention are:
1. Vitamin D deficiency. It needs to be rectified with vitamin D supplement such as D rise capsule 60000 IU once a week for 8 weeks. You can discuss about it with your treating doctor. 20-30 minutes of sun exposure every day will also help you.
2. High blood sugar value: Was the test done while you were fasting or after food. If it was after food, then it may not be of concern.
3. Mentzer index in my opinion is not of any relevance since your hemoglobin, red blood cell and blood indices are normal.
4. Low eGFR - A low GFR value (under 90) suggest an insult to kidney. However factors like dehydration affects GFR. Discuss with your physician. Your doctor may order for an ultrasound scan along with urine protein evaluation if necessary and then decide the next steps of management.
Rest of the report including ECG is essentially normal.
Hope I am clear. Let me know if you need clarifications

The reports were run while I was fasting. So, the blood sugar value will be a concern is it? Is there a chance that I might get diabetic? How do I prevent it? Regarding low eGFR value, How serious is the impact on my kidneys doctor? Should I be worried
Brief Answer:
Prediabetes...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
As per latest guidelines fasting blood sugar above 100mg/dl is prediabetes (more than 126mg/dl is suggestive of diabetes). So no, you are not diabetic yet. However you should start diet and life style changes that include low sugar intake and weight control to avoid blood sugar shooting to the diabetic level.
The factors that affect eGFR are classified as acute and chronic. Acute decline in eGFR is reversible while chronic ones need long term treatment. Based on the current lab finding this is seems like an acute decline. However it should be followed up. I will recommend you to visit a physician for further evaluation and monitoring. Your physician will be able to recommend the necessary steps of action.
Hope it helps. Let me know if you need any other clarifications.
