Question: Hi Doctor,

I have corresponded previously regarding my worries of the symptoms that I had faced for last 6 months, which was throat pain, joints pains, muscle pain specially in the legs, Vomiting feeling, skin rashes on my chest, nose feeling like cold, white coated at the end of my tongue, and I still have some muscle pains sometime specially in the soleus and the plantaris, and the gastrocnemius, only in left side leg.

I had undergone the following hiv tests:- HIV 1/2 (Ag/Ab)

1-October 8,2018 negative

2-November 22,2018 negative ( my last sex was October 21,2018. With condoms. she made me oral sex.

3-April 15,2019 negative.

As I said the lady which I had sex with she tested for hiv 2 times after our sex, first test December 6, 2018 and other one in april 12, 2019 and both was negative. ( both test was HIV 1/2 (Ag/Ab)

1-Why I have all of this symptoms?? from my googling they are all hiv related symptoms.

2-can I have false negative test but I%E2%80%99m positive?? More then 3 months window. If the test was 4th generation?

3-Is it possible to have HIV symptoms in the muscles for more then 6 months?

4-Do I have to retest myself again?

What is your advice, I%E2%80%99m really worried.

Look forward to your feedback.

Brief Answer:
You are free from HIV, symptoms not related to HIV infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi,.
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
All your symptoms are vague and not specific only for HIV infection.
Repeatedly your HIV tests were Non-reactive. Your test is 4th generation test only. HIV 1Ag/Ab1 and 2 is the 4th generation HIV Combo test. It is reliable to the extent of 99%. Chances of False negative after window period is almost nil. This is once again confirmed with the results of your sex partner. So you are free from HIV Infection. For your problem, consult your physician and get well soon.

You please meet a general physician or internal medicine specialist first. He/she will examine and investigate your condition. They will guide you further whether you need to meet any other specialist or not.

Brief Answer:
Consult a nearby teaching institution or a bigger hospital

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
I am not able to locate your place from this site.
Better you go to a nearby teaching medical institution and have a consultation there with Professor Medicine.
All the best.
