Hello and Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes Preperation H is used to treat hemorrhoids.
Use one suppository once daily at night time.Peel the cover off and then insert it into your anal canal and let the cream/fluid spread inside.
One suppository at a time.
Use every day before going to bed.
Secondly if you could manage,
Start taking Syp. Lactulose(over the counter) 10-15ml once daily before going to bed. It is a laxatives. Using laxative would prevent straining while defecating and would prevent condotion from worsening.
Thirdly, request your gastroenterologist to prescribe you with oral Calcium Dobesilate-Doxium therapy for 3 months. Initially twice daily for 21 days followed by once daily for 10 weeks. Trials have shown that 3-month therapy can cause shrinkage of Hemorrhoids in almost 60% cases. It was demonstrated that calcium dobesilate decreased capillary permeability, inhibited platelet aggregation and improved blood viscosity; thus resulting in reduction of tissue edema.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again my dear,
Its a medicine.Don't get mislead by name its not calcium.
Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in the lowest part of your rectum and anus. Sometimes the walls of these blood vessels stretch so thin that the veins bulge and get irritated especially when you poop. This can be as a result of trauma experieced by abdominal structures during childbirth.Oral cal dobesilate decreases capillary permeability, inhibited platelet aggregation and improves blood viscosity; thus resulting in reduction of tissue edema.
Its effective in more then 70% cases.
