Hi Doctor: I Noticed A Small Ridge Or Line On

default
Posted on Mon, 1 Jun 2020
Question: Hi Doctor:
I noticed a small ridge or line on the back of my left testicle the other day. I recently had some pain in the left testicle and it has since gone away. However, I checked myself several times and never noticed it until today (could have easily missed it before) and it just feels like a ridge of some sort that seems somewhat long.
Is that normal to be there? I tried finding it on the other side but had no luck. Thanks. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
What you felt could be the epididymis

Detailed Answer:
Good day thank you for being with health care magic!

The long ridge that you feel on your left testicle could be the left epididymis. Often times after being inflamed or what we call epididymitis the soft organ which is called the epididymis could become a little bit hard than usual. usually this goes away on its own and there's no need for any further treatment.

If ever that you fell the ridge is increasing in size or the pain comes back then you need to do a scrotal ultrasound just to be sure but there is nothing wrong.
