Hi Doctor: I Noticed A Small Ridge Or Line On

default
Posted on Mon, 1 Jun 2020
Question: Hi Doctor:
I noticed a small ridge or line on the back of my left testicle the other day. I recently had some pain in the left testicle and it has since gone away. However, I checked myself several times and never noticed it until today (could have easily missed it before) and it just feels like a ridge of some sort that seems somewhat long.
Is that normal to be there? I tried finding it on the other side but had no luck. Thanks. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
It could be a varicocele or spermatocele

Detailed Answer:
Hi Crosen,

To me it sounds like a varicocele or spermatocele, i.e. some sort of completely benign declaration of either a vein or a spermatic duct. If there is anything to see, a photo would be a great help. If it grows or pain intensifies, you should have an ultrasound.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have further questions.
