Do We Need To Take Covid Test My Wife Having Cold?
Question: Hi Doctor,
My wife having cold (mild cold and no runny nose), slight uneasy near throat and mild dry cough (mornings and evening time) from yesterday. Body temperature normal and no fever. Currently she is giving feeding to 8 month old baby.
Do we need to take Covid test or can we try any medication before taking the test. we are under voluntary home quarantine now and she too cheston cold tablet today morning. Thank you !!

Hi,
You could take a rapid test for now .However maintain 14 days self quarantine and symptomatic treatment is sufficient at present . I would recommend breathing exercise and warm salt water gargling at frequent intervals to ease the symptoms. High protein diet and plenty of oral fluids is recommended
