Question: Hi Doctor,
My wife is 33 years old. Her hair have started becoming white near the roots.
I understand that hair greying is a natural process but, I am not sure if it can start in this age. Is there some possibility of slowing down this process if it can't be stopped?
Please suggest as she doesn't want to color her hair with so many color brands available in the market.

Brief Answer:
Regarding premature greying of hair

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and noted your concern.

Premature canites or premature greying of hair is largely genetically determined. Although treatment options are available but they may or may not work in those who try them. Mostly they would arrest further progression of grey hair. Nevertheless some patients also do notice repigmentation of grey hair. I suggest her to take Oral Calcium pantothenate 200mg tablet (Kerablak tablet) once a day for 6 months. In addition she may use either Q sera black solution or Grey Ex solution for application on scalp, once a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.
