Question: Hi Doctor,
My wife is having pain in the corner of one eye. Also, there seems to be a bit of swelling on that corner of eye. Please see the attached image where I have highlighted the affected area though it is not very much visible in the pic. Please suggest what shall she do? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
It looks like a stye

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the question.

This looks like a stye which is an inflammation of a gland in the eye.

I would advise you to do hot fomentation of the eyelid with a hot clean cloth four to five-time a day along with an antibiotic eye drops like Moxifloxacin four times a day.

If the swelling doesn't subside in two to three days then I advise you to consult an Ophthalmologist so that we can do an examination and if needed remove the swelling by making a XXXXXXX in it, that is if needed. For the pain, if it is more you can take oral painkiller SOS.

Hope my answer helps you.
Get well soon.

Regards
