Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It's difficult to differentiate herpes and other benign lesions of the lip. But herpes lesions are progressive unless treated with antiviral medications. I would like to see how the current lesions look. Please post fresh pictures of the affected area. There are no pictures now.
Awaiting your response...
Regards

Brief Answer:
Agree with your dermatologist...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Unlike the previous photos posted to the other doctor, I can clearly see you have lesions on both sides of lip. Herpes labialis typically occurs on one side. It is uncommon to see bilaterally similar lesions. Moreover the lesions hasn't changed much as compared to earlier ones. This is again is not typical of herpes.
Therefore I concur with your dermatologist opinion. This may not be herpes. Continue with the lip balm. You may also consider starting multivitamin supplements like zincovit tablets once daily. It will help in resolving this issue.
Hope I am clear. Let me know if you need clarifications.
Regards
