Question: Hi Doctor, this question is regarding my wife, she was operated last month for the cholecystectomy. She was operated on 3rd of March last month and the procedure was successful, but we are little concerned over the wounds. They haven't used normal stitches, instead doctors used glue for the wounds, and out of the four wounds one is still not healed, and some liquid discharge coming randomly, and in one wound some red skin patches can be seen and the wound is very itchy. I am also sharing the pictures the discharge one is bellow the breast bone and 2nd one is from the right upper side. We can't go to the hospital due to the Corona-virus lock-down and taking precautions at home, thanks in advance.

They will heal

Detailed Answer:
Hi
The pictures have not been uploaded. You should upload in the Reports section.
As the Surgery was done 1 month back, wounds should be healed by now.As per your description,it looks like Cholecystectomy was done laparoscopically.
Discharge from one wound could be pus or fluid from the subcutaneous fat.It should be cleaned daily with POVIDONE IODINE solution and close the wound with a sterile dressing pad.I prefer to send the discharge for Culture and Sensitivity to know the exact medicine(Antibiotic)that reduces the discharge.
Another wound which has red patches and itchy should also be cleaned daily and dressing should be applied. Some wounds will be itchy during healing process.
I prefer to give a broad spectrum Antibiotic like Faropenem tablet till culture and sensitivity report.
Nothing to worry.
Wounds will get healed in course of time.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish her good health and speedy recovery
Regards
