Question: Hi Doctor,Attaching the last sonography reports.let me know if all is ok for the delivery to be normal for my wife. It stated the cervical length could not b assessed and internal os is closed,so as the time of delivery ,can we go for normal one..just a concern..and why thru sonography it can't be assessed,as this was the last one. My wife has been admitted now to the hospital..as there were water discharge. It's just 36 weeks n 4 days, the doctors are saying today morning 10am will give the injection for pain and will try for normal delivery,.as the baby's head is a bit up and the vaginal opening is not that open as expected, they will try for injection n pain,if successful will be going for normal delivery,.in case the vaginal opening doesn't widens and the baby's head doesn't come down a bit they shall go for ceaserean.

Brief Answer:
Your doctors are correct in their management plan, please proceed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr XXXXXXX

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service.

I have studied your query carefully and seen all the attached reports.

Ultrasound is essentially normal for the gestational age, only concern however is the water discharge.

Once the water (liquor or amniotic fluid) is discharged from the uterus there are very high chances of infection occurring and reduced amniotic fluid complicates fetal well being and the best way forward is to induce the labour and deliver the baby.

And induction may not be successful all the time so your doctors are absolutely correct in their approach.

If the induction fails, then only option left will be to go for Cesarean delivery.

I hope this answers your query.

I wish your wife and your child a safe delivery.

Best wishes.
