Hi Dr: I Attached A Pic Of What Appears To

Question: Hi Dr: I attached a pic of what appears to be a lump near my arm pit. I just had a CT scan with contract of the abdomen and pelvis. It was a full body to check for something completely unrelated and nothing showed up. My question would be could that area just be a muscle? I do not feel it when the arm is relaxed or partially raised. The arm has to be fully extended in order for me to feel it. I have a doctors appointment in July and wondering if it should be moved closer?

Please let me know your opinion or if you have any questions.

Thanks, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Can be a swollen lymph node.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have seen the attached image. The lump that you have felt seems to be a swollen lymph node. This is not likely to be a part of the muscle. If the lump is freely XXXXXXX and painless then it is likely to be due to a local inflammation in the area. An infection also needs to be ruled out. FNAC test will help in detecting the type of lump it is. You can move the appointment closer in case the lump increases in size or becomes painful.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
