yes it was confirmed by ultrasound by a urologist, I dont remember the size but you could say it was more then pea sized.
I was told it wouldn't cause me any concerns but now i have checked it has totally disappeared. I would say it was around for more then a year. My concerns as a young man would be would this effect fertility.
Does the body reabsorb it?
thanks

Brief Answer:
As detailed below.
Detailed Answer:
I can understand your concerns of being young.
Thanks for your feedback.
Spermatocele does not affect fertility in most of the cases.
You can surely get the semen analysis done to confirm that everything is within normal limits, this is the best way - get confirmed.
Spermatocele is a cyst - cyst means has a mucosal lining and such cysts occurs in many places in body. And most of these get absorbed, resolved or so.
Since there is no cyst, it is a great news.
I hope you have got this confirmed by Ultrasonography.
I also hope this answers your query.

Good to hear Spermatocele doesn't effect fertility the urologist who i went to said he had one as well and he has fathered children.
I dont really think a sperm sample would be needed i am fit and healthy. I did do a sperm check at home and it was within limits. As you Can imagine this has been given me anxiety?
My questions are:
With the cyst now going will this leave any scar tissue? I haven't got this looked at by ultrasound as Sir theirs nothing there now.
Why do Spermatoceles exist and are they common?
Even if a Spermatocele is still there - i am guessing this does not effect fertility? is this because there are a number of sperm tubules - can you give me a better explanation about the tubing and how our body recovers down there? Does a spermatocele leave any scar tissue?
Also I did suffer from prostatitis for a number of years, now my CRP, ESR white cell count are all normal - does a gap of not going to the doctor cause any issues, or with all my bloods showing the infection has cleared now conclusive that everything in the prostate is back to normal? I have no pain.
Instead of sperm sample i want to concentrate on exercising and maybe see a Physciatrist to get better mentally. Please give me your thoughts doctor.

i want to give you my sincerist thanks for the piece of mind
how does our body absorb it? is the cyst just filled off fluid?

As detailed below.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your appreciation.
Cyst getting absorbed do not leave scars.
Get this confirmed by an Ultrasound, please.
And the quantity and quality of ''sperms'' in semen can be known by lab test only.
Most important here is to see the results.
Tubing and cysts is so complex, I really do not know how can I explain. The Epididymis has multiple tubules and one of the covering gets out-pouched to for a swelling lied by mucosa. This mucosal secretions cause it to bulge. The exact cause of how and why it develops is not known. Once the inflammation reduced this cyst gets regressed. Body has all the power to cure most of the illnesses.
Prostatitis is again a typical disease of young people, the best diagnosis is made by a finger palpation of prostate by an Urologist/General Surgeon and assisted by Ultrasonography and other investigations.
Consulting any Specialist is as per your choice and need that you can discuss with your Primary Doctor.
I hope this answers all your queries.
Do not take any stress.
Be positive and get the investigations as advised to know the exact position and get free from stress and anxiety.
Take care.
