Hi, I Am 40 Yr Male.My Blood Sugar Levels Are
Question: Hi,
I am 40 yr male.My blood sugar levels are high from past few years.Recently I got my blood test done and consulted a doctor.
On 1st Sept 18-My blood sugar fasting was 161mg/DL,post prandial 244, platelet count 1.43 lk/cumm.
Doctor advised Galvus met (50/500) 1 tab before bfast and before dinner.
Blood test redone on 16th Sept 18: Fasting blood sugar 88, post prandial 123. However platelet count reduced to 69 thousand..
I stopped the medicine and redid the blood test after 2 weeks.
On 30th sept 18; Sugar fasting- 163, platelet count 98 thousand.
Kindly advise what to do.

You have diabetes type 2. You will need treatment . So please do not stop. If any molecule is causing platelet drop, Change them. start tab amaryl 1 mg once a day, before breakfast .
recheck sugars after a week, and let me know.

Thank you doctor.I will follow your prescription and let you know after a week. What about platelets.Any medicine required.

Dear sir, wait and watch! if it was just a drug effect, it would go with time. then we do not need to do anything. if platelets drop even after drug withdrawal, then we will reconsider.
