Question: Hi, I am 41 years old male. 5'9", 86 kg. For about a month, when I get up, my right hand fingers are stiff and making a fist takes a bit of effort. The index finger especially gets stiff and the movement at the joins is not smooth. Wondering if this is normal. I have tried using finger strengthener exercise, but not much for help. Please advise if any specific exercise I should perform or limit any specific food intake.

Brief Answer:
Require detailed clinical evaluation.....

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

As per your history, as you have finger stiffness specifically in the morning, so I don't think it's normal which should get evaluated further.

Please let me know,
Do you have joint pain/swelling or other joints pain/swelling?

For that I would suggest you to consult with Orthopedician for detailed clinical examination.

He may procure x ray and lab investigations complete blood count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, c reactive protein, rheumatoid factor, uric acid to rule out arthritis/Rheumatoid arthritis as per evaluation.

Till then continue finger exercises. In case of pain, You may apply heat/cold compression and take tablet acetaminophen/ibuprofen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
