Brief Answer:
different possible causes

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is understandable to be concerned re any pain in the breasts but in most persons it is not related to breast cancer which is the most common concern.

Breast cancer usually presents with a lump or changes in the appearance of the breast.

Breast pain can be due to: (1)trauma to the breast
(2)infection
(3)cyst (sac)- this would normally be associated with a lump however
(4)hormonal eg at the time of the period
(5)neurological (related to the nerves in the breast, nerve pain in any part of the body is called neuralgia, it may be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes)
(6)side effect of some medications

If the pain is severe or does not improve then you can consider moving up the date for the mammogram but your doctor may also want to consider other causes as well

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
