Question: Hi,
I am 69yrs of age. Recently i had a retinal surgery where fluid behind the retina is replaced by gas. It was done a month back. I went for the routine check up also. After 1month i had gone through the scanning and doc told everything seems to be fine. I can even travel by flight.
But today which is the 35th day of surgery i was having some irritation around my eyes and little bit redness. There is no pain as such. I had started cooking and also started reading books. Is it because of that. What should i do

Brief Answer:
Follow through retinal surgery
Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to is.
Check with other eye closed that there is no diminution of vision. If no deterioration then this redness is presumed to be only a surface disorder which can occur in response to outside allergens or some fumes from kitchen.
Lubricant eye drops like refresh tears or Tears naturale can be put in 3 times a day and can be continued for a while.
Keep your follow up appointments regularly. This avoids any surprises.
Do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.
