Hi, I Am A 32 Years Male And Tested For

I am a 32 years male and tested for covid 19 positive.
The nose and throat sputum test came as negative but CT lungs scan report shows as positive "typical for covid 19"
I got admitted yesterday at Tamil Nadu GH and only prescribed paracetamol 500,multivitamin tablets and a tablet for cold. I had fever for continuously 6 days and fever stopped from yesterday.but I can't walk or climb stairs normally like others as it is difficult due to breathing problem, doctor is telling this symptom will be there for few days and it will go away and told me not to panic.there is no other treatment given to me other than above medicines. Should I add any other medications to improve my breathing problem?
Also attaching my lungs scan report can you check and let me know if my lungs is affected bcos of covid ,if affected how many percent.
Can you also tell me , will my breathing problem become normal in next few days as the doctor said.
You should start Intravenous steroids.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the CT report you have attached. It is a bilateral disease. We can not comment on the exact percentage of involvement but roughly 30%.
The sensitivity of the swab test is only 66-67%.
This means 33-34% cases may come false negative. So a negative swab test can not exclude Corona infection.
In my opinion, you should definitely get done repeat test after 5 days. This may come positive.
You should also start injectable steroids because of the presence of ground-glass opacities (GGO) on CT scan. GGO always suggests lung inflammation and hence steroids are much indicated to stop lung inflammation.
You should also start antibiotics like Azithromycin, Doxycyclin, and vitamin C after discussing with your treating doctor.
Don't worry, things will be alright. Your breathing will become normal just do the above-mentioned changes.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks
