Question: Hi, I am a 44 year old female. For the past week and a half, I have had lower abdominal pain on my left side. At times the pain is severe. I have had recurring fevers and also lower back pain on the same side. I have also had constipation and very frequent urination. I have take Cipro for the past 4 days, However, none of my symptoms have subsided. In fact, they seem to get worse every evening. Should I go to the emergency room?

Brief Answer:
Need to get investigated to rule out presence of stone in kidney or ureter.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

Based on the facts that yo have posted pain in lower abdomen on left side with fever and frequency for urination that you have is mostly due to presence of stone either in Kidney or Ureter on left side associated with UTI..

Visit Emergency room or Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
