Hi, I Am A Professional Powerlifter And Weightlifter. I Am
Question: Hi, I am a professional powerlifter and weightlifter. I am 6 ft 3 330 pounds. I do not take steroids. This morning I injured my lower back. Its nothing serious, most
likely a strain, but this is the 4th one Ive had in the exact same place in the last 6 months, the last one was 1 month ago. I am a bit worried that it may be something else and that Id have to retire. I have worked extremely hard to get to where I am now and I am worried. All three strains have resolved in a matter of days, 2 weeks at the most, and todays looks like it will take about the same.
I am planning on retiring in 2020 anyway, but my goal is to become the 9th person in history to reach the 2000’pound club without steroids. I am currenttly at 1865 and I plan on reaching the 2000 pound club by march at the latest. Im retiring soon after from powerlifting.
My question is, do you think my ailment is severe? Should I retire now or should I heal and complete my goal? Thank you.

I understand your problem. By your description It seems okay to rest for sometime say 2 weeks to heal the injury and then continue to your goal. But it will be better to consult your doctor and get MRI to evaluate the injury.
