Question: Hi
I am a very active person and play multiple sports including Swimming , Tennis and Soccer.
Presently i am swimming and normally swim 400 metres to 500 metres a day.
But when i swim , i find that i am getting stomach issues more often.
I normally have stomach iritation and abrupt motions nearly every week when i am swimming.
Our swimming pool is pretty good and gets clean every day. Its a 4-5 star pool.
I have started to taken 10 Billion Probiotic dose every day now.
Is there anything i can do to swim without these stomach issues as some swim water enters nose and mouth

Have seen your details and I appreciate your concerns,
Swimming pool water though is chlorinated monthly or weekly is a hub of millions of bacteria's coming from several sources(Hundreds of people swim into it daily and with their saliva spits up million of species of bacteria's yeast and other protozoans into the water. Some times even water is contaminated by bacteria's and other harmful organism living in groin vaginal penile and anal areas.The problem you are suffering from is caused usually due to bad bacteria's which usually respond to probiotics or protozoans(They are toxic unicellular harmful species and as probiotics contains only health bacterium,Person with protozoans does not improve by taking probiotics.

Initially I would suggest you three test
Stool routine and microscopy with culture and sensitivity to find out the bacteria fungus or protozoan involved.
Gut Flora test to see if your good gut bacteria's are ok.
Fecal calprotectin to see if intestines are inflamed as a result of infection as in that case anti protozoal and antibacterial medication course would be given.

As of now-
Wash your mouth with Betadine mouth was before and after swimming.Keep it in mouth for minimum 10 minutes.

Add probiotic containing yeast species with bacterial probiotic you are on. I would recommend you to take Econorm thrice daily.
Include yogurt in your food.
Take fermented food more.
Take isabghul husk 10 gram three times a day with XXXXXXX warm water. These fibers would swell up and help to bulk up your stools. You can get it online.
Follow up with reports.

Hello Doc, I am felling much better by not swimming. I recovered in last 2 days.
Our pool is chlorinated daily in the night from 00 hrs to 3:30 hours.
But still i guess its better not to swim.

If you are feeling better by not swimming then just stop swimming for a week and take the above suggested over the counter probiotic etc.
I think the problem would resolve itself in a week.
In case it persists then go for the tests
