Question: Hi, I am concerned about a ct scan on the ovaries vs. a spiral CT scan for a 20 year old. My daughter has TWO urethra's determined by ultrasound. What should we be concerned about. She is a twin but her twin did not make it pass the 1st trimester. Could this be a contributing factor?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering the concerns.
Though low dode, CT does carry the risk of radiation exposure. Spiral CT gives less radiation exposure compared to traditional CT. To avoid this risk , you can ask for a MRI

It is difficult to see 2 urethras by ultrasound. Please upload the ultrasound report.

There is no need to be concerned about the two urethras if she does not have urinary complaints.

The early demise of one twin during first trimester is not a contributing factor
