Hi , I Am Experiencing Spotting Issue Since Two Years.
Question: Hi , I am experiencing spotting issue since two years. I was told that my testosterone levels were elevated hence I was given progesterone. Instead of using pills I used natural progesterone derived from yam , it did help me in getting my periods every 28 days but caused lots of cramps and pain. I got transparent fluid from my breast and I got a mammography but it was not breast cancer. I stopped using progesterone cream and my periods became irregular again and now am back to the stage where am spotting for weeks before I start my regular period and once it starts I have to use a homeopathic remedy to stop by bleeding as well. It’s not natural anymore kindly help me as what to do . I am 35 year old female ( trying to have a baby) .
Thanks
Thanks
Brief Answer:
Can be a hormonal disturbance.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
You are having a prolonged bleeding with cramps which is not normal for you. This can happen due to dysfunctional uterine bleeding, a hormonal disturbance or an endometrial issue. You need a regular hormonal therapy after a few blood tests under the guidance of a gynecologist to get the regular periods. She can also help you conceive with the help of medicines.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

Hello Dr XXXXXXX
I was given progesterone, I got regular periods when I used it. I stopped using it when I saw some fluid coming out from my breast. I was not diagnosed with any cancer though thanks god for it .
But now that I stopped using progesterone cream am getting the same problem again spotting and prolonged bleeding . Hence am asking is it safe to use progesterone cream again or should I get blood tests again and start using medications as per that .
Kindly advice
I do have a gynecologist I took an appointment to see her soon.

You can use progesterone again.

You can use progesterone again and get relief from your problem till the time you see your gynecologist. It is best to get a few tests done in case you are taking the progesterone supplement for last more than one year.
