Hi, I Am Having A Tiny Black Dot On The
I am having a tiny black dot on the inside of my cheek. I remember biting my cheek while chewing food.
Its been there for a week now.
Should i be concerned about it?
Mostly submucous collection of blood.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Heggysjreyas91,
Thanks for the query.
I understand your concern.
- Yes, accidental biting of the inner check can cause damage to small blood vessels in it's lining ..leading to the collection of blood in tissue (blood blister)... which turns black over the time.
* Mostly it heals by itself in two weeks time
*It may be tender due to fresh injury or it may be associated with muscle twitching (as you had in past) or little numbness. You should consult a neurologist for further examination.
*It may get infected...to form a small abscess.... and would need treatment.
*It may increase in size .or does heal within a normal period...there are chances of melanoma.& .it needs medical attendance.
- In all the above conditions..you have to consult your family doctor first for needful treatment or refer you to an expert for specific advice.
Hope this helps. For any more information please ask.
Thanks.
There is no pain. I will wait for a couple of days and if it increases in size or starts paining, i will consult a specalist nearby.
You are most welcome!
