Brief Answer:
Need physical evaluation...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Sometimes a tonsil infection can be referred to the ear. Without a physical examination I cannot rule out possibility of tonsillitis.

Are you running fever?
Do you have nasal congestion, runny nose, headache or vomiting?
Do you have any problem with hearing?
Is the pain on both sides or one side?

Awaiting your response...

Brief Answer:
Continue medications..

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for providing more details.

Since there are no other associated complaints, I am unable to find any clues to associate the problem to tonsillitis or any other infection. May be the problem could be related to a virus, not alarming though.

As you've already started antibiotic (azithral), I will encourage you to continue the same for a day or two more. I will also start you on antihistamine tablets like tab levocet 5mg once at night for 2-3 days. You should also try gargling with XXXXXXX warm water (mixed with disprin tablet) or gargle with betadine gargling solution. Gargling should ease the pain and discomfort.

If the problem persists or worsens in the next 2-3 days, I recommend getting back to your treating doctor for clinical evaluation.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
