Hi I Am In East XXXXXXX And Good Drs Are
Question: Hi I am in East XXXXXXX and good Drs are not easy to find for us sadly.
I had bloods done in a private lab, as 5 weeks ago i developed shingles.
The rash has gone, the pain too, but I am still having daily fevers and chills.
My blood shows
Neutrophils @ 84.3%
Lymphocyes @ 9.9%
Monocytes @ 3.2 %
Eosinophils 2.4
Baso 0.2
Might this be that i have a bacterial infection, or can shingles do this to my blood?
I could not eat well for some time also.
Thank you ,John

Brief Answer:
appears like a bacterial infection
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
The increase in neutrophils implies that a bacterial infection is present.
Neutrophils tend to respond to bacterial infections and lymphocytes respond to viral infections.
If your symptoms were related to lingering viral infection then the lymphocytes would be high instead of the neutrophils.
Some bacterial infections are mild and resolve with minimal treatment but others may require a course of antibiotics for resolution
If you are still having symptoms, it would be best to be seen, assessed and treated with a course of antibiotics.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
