Hello!
Welcome on - Ask a Doctor - service!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that your current blood pressure values are quite optimal. In fact Ramipril is an effective anti-hypertensive drug; without any important effect on heart rate.
You may continue following your current treatment (Ramipril, beta blocker, Aspirin; a lipid lowering drug could be required in case blood lipid profile remains unfavorable despite modified diet).
In addition a physically active life-style and avoiding close smoking contacts is advisable.
You just need to check your BP values for a couple of days (up to a week) and refer them to your prescribing doctor for properly concluding on the ongoing anti-hypertensive scheme.
You may also write your issues of concern here, in case you need a second professional opinion.
Hope to have been helpful to you!

I still have quite a big gap btwn diast and syst. So i likely have some artery furring up?
My concern is that the ramipril 2.5 has already taken 20 points off my diast. My pulse is already showing 53 54 but was aleats good at 55 to 60.
What benefit from adding the aspirin and bb? Worried diast could drop to 60? And heartrate say to mid 40s? Is that likely? Would that b too low or good to clear my remaining angina discomfort?

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!
Your actual heart rate is OK! A bit bradycardia, but still OK as far as you have no complaints.
As these values have not been influenced yet by any betablocker therapy, probably the best strategy would be to wait and see for the heart rate fluctuation.
You don't need any further heart rate lowering for the moment.
Regarding lipid lowering strategy, it would be necessary to start after hyperlipidemia is confirmed by lab tests.
Otherwise, it would be necessary if the presence of coronary artherosclerotic disease is present. The same holds true for Aspirin use.
Hope to have clarified your issues of concern.
Let me know in case of any further questions.
Best wishes,
Dr. Iliri

Hello!
Physical activity is highly recommended; walking, aerobics and even light gym would be OK!
It would be beneficial with regard to a better blood pressure values control, physical conditioning, glucose and lipids metabolism.
Competitive sports should be avoided.
