Hi I Am Male, 36 Years, Height 6ft 1 Inch
Question: Hi
I am male, 36 years, Height 6ft 1 inch , Weight 78kg .
1. I am a very active person. I have been swimming 500 metres Freestyle now everyday or running 2 Kms a day
2. I don't smoke , drink very very rarely , sleep for 10 to 12 hours, eat healthy food most of the times
I think i have some white coat hypertension, BP measuring machine and Hospital environment generally gets my heart rate racing from 65 bps to 100 bps in no time sub-conciously, i dont understand why . Due to which most of the time my BP readings are higher normally
I took some Digital BP readings today and it was between 124 to 138 on Systolic and 91 to 95 in Diastolic levels.
Do you think WHITE coat hypertension can raise the Diastolic levels as well due to increased heart rate. I normally get very uncomfortable seeing the BP machine whether at hospital or home somehow.
Another note :
I don't have any other symptoms at all and keeping very fit and very high exercised active life. Low Moderate Stress in life in work or personal life.

Brief Answer:
Diastolic levels may also get raised
Detailed Answer:
Hi
White coat hypertension not only increases Systolic, but also incrases Diastolic. But,the increase is more in Systolic pressure. It may raise upto 10mm Hg.Diastolic usually raises 5 mm Hg.
As per your readings,I don't think that you are having hypertension.
You can relax.
Now a days, few doctors are using Ambulatory Blood pressure monitoring method. Here,a machine is attached to your body.BP will be recorded during all activities. After 24 hours, your BP readings are seen and conclusions can be drawn.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health
Regards

Hi Doc , i dont think i have BP at all, but the measurement is always high as my pulse increases from 65 to 100 just seeing the machine sub-conciously, I have noticed it every time. I am not scared but it just happens. And due to that the readings are always off.
Otherwise i am doing perfectly fine, very fit and exercising a lot.
