Question: Hi
I am wanting to ask about a throbbing/pulsating im getting on the left side of my head. Its only happened about 3 times in the last year and a half, and isnt painful or any other symptoms. Last only about 10 mins or so.

Brief Answer:
Throbbing is usually not a sign of aneurysm in brain.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.

I have noted your symptoms and would like to reassure you that throbbing or pulsating sensations are not usually due to an underlying aneurysm in brain.

The usual symptoms of aneurysm are headache- mild or severe. If it ruptures, then, serious symptoms such as seizures, weakness of arm or leg and loss of consciousness may occur.

I sincerely hope my reply has helped you.

I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.

Brief Answer:
These symptoms are non-specific.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

These symptoms are non-specific. They can occur with changes in pulse rate or blood pressure, or sometimes related to change of posture, emotional changes, etc.

These symptoms do not suggest the presence of any brain disease in the location, where you feel the throbbing or pulsations.
