Hi, I Ate A Bunch Of Grapes And Soft Cheese
Question: Hi, I ate a bunch of grapes and soft cheese on a somewhat empty stomach (ate a little bit of dinner earlier). All of a sudden after that, I got intense stomach cramping and diarrhea. I've only gone twice in the past hour. I'm not currently nauseous, but I was slightly nauseous earlier in the day, although nausea from anxiety is a common occurrence for me. I have a severe fear of vomiting, so I'm wondering, if I have diarrhea now how likely is it that I'll start vomiting? Thanks!
Brief Answer:
If it is a stomach flu, you will likely vomit
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
It sounds like a stomach virus. Usually, symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea for a few days. If you do not have a fever or bloody stools, you can try loperamide to treat the diarrhea. Remember to stay hydrated!
To prevent vomiting, take antiemetics like gravol or ondansetron.
Hope this helps.

Thanks! I already took ondansetron. But is it possible to have the stomach flu without vomiting? Also, I haven't had diarrhea in about one hour and I feel fine, no nausea. Why is it likely that I'll vomit?
Brief Answer:
It is possible
Detailed Answer:
Hi again XXXXXXX
It is possible to have stomach flu without vomiting. The reason I say it is likely that you will vomit is because the stomach flu usually causes both diarrhea and vomiting. It is self-limiting, so you may already soon be over it.
Hope this helps.
