Question: Hi I been experiencing tightiness, stiffness around my waiste line making it very uncomfortable to even turn my position in bed. It's difficult to get out of bed but appears to subside once I've been up for awhile? Have had the pain for about a month now appears to be getting a bit worse.

Brief Answer:
As explained below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask A Doctor"

I have gone through your query. The most common cause that is muscle spasm can cause such pain.

I suggest you try to do home physio such as placing a heat bag on the affected area for 20 mins followed by applying a pain relief gel and a hot shower twice daily for half an hour.
You can take some painkillers such as Tab. Tylenol twice a day.

In case it still persists I would suggest you meet your physician or orthopedician for an X-ray of lumbar spine or MRI to rule out slip disc.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to discuss further.
