Welcome back on - Ask a Doctor - service!
Regarding your concern I would explain that besides a potential adverse effect of Brillinta or decreased cardiac function, shortness of breath may be an expression of other issues as well:
- an accute pulmonary inflamnation/infection,
- anemia,
- stent complication, such as stent thrombosis (less likely alternative).
If dyspnea persists then several tests should be done to exclude the above mentioned causes:
- complete blood count,
- PCR,
- chest X ray study,
- cardiac enzymes (troponin)
You should discuss with your doctor on the above mentioned issues!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
