Question: Hi, I had menstruation in August 24th or 25th and from 28th onwards I had very high fever and vigorous vomiting which was diagnosed as Dengue when i did blood test, I was also given an injection through IV chanel during that time to reduce the severity of the issue, and then on I took crocin 500 atleast for 4 to 5 days thrice a day for fever. Once the fever was over I experienced weakness atleast for 15 to 20 days. My problem is now I dint get menstruation yet in September ideally by 25th sep, should I wait for it or what to do?

Brief Answer:
Though delay is common after the infection...Be watchful.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Monthly,
Thanks for the query.I understand your concern.
1.Due to the weakness following Dengue fever &strong medicines taken, there is hormonal imbalance ..which can many a times lead to delayed periods...so Good news is that you are more likely to get delayed periods .
Wait for a week more & if there is no period till then get home pregnancy test done to exclude pregnancy....If at all it is present...confirm it by blood test as little unhygienic, white discharge or urine problem can give you false +ve.
2.Dengue is a risk alarm in pregnancy...having bad effects on development &maturity of pregnancy. Complete recovery from the disease takes about two weeks.so conception before that would be risky .
So if test is positive you should think of getting it terminated...under an expert gynecologist's care.
I hope that helps.Anyfollow up query is welcome.
Thanks.
