Hi, I Have A Blue Mark On My Buttcrack. It’s

Question: Hi, I have a blue mark on my buttcrack. It’s been there as long as I can remember. Right above my anus is a spot that is dark blue, and then it narrows up the crack and stops. Is this something that can be fixed with skin lightening? It doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t feel like a bruise. The skin does seem thinner than what I’d expect it to be in the buttcrack (since it’s an area that gets a lot of friction). Could it be just because the skin is thinner? Is it something that could be fixed? I do have some darkness in the region but the blue tint is what concerns me. Thank you
Brief Answer:
Probably a birthmark, no treatment is required.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The blue mark seems to be related to a birthmark named Mongolian blue spot.
They are very benign and no treatment is required.
You should not be worried about this mark.
If you need to remove the mark for aesthetic cause, you can consider laser treatment.
This treatment is done by a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
