Question: Hi, I have a couple questions for you guys today. so i was diagnosed with hashimotos disease with a thyroid antibody of 88. I was placed on levothyroxine. Since this is only a T4 hormone replacement, how will it work to get rid of the inflammation causing me to have hashimotos. I noticed that I used to have constipation and this has maybe helped a little with that. But my main concerning symptoms are brain fog, anxiety, heard to focus and learn things to put to memory. I am also, very tired alot of the time, and dont feel as confident and motivated as I used to be. Also, I had lymes disease when i was younger and took the antibiotics for that, but was wondering if maybe that could be the cause of the inflammatory disease if it was not fully eradicated?

Brief Answer:
Follow up with few more details....

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through query and here is my advice.

As per your history, as you are on levothyroxine and presently you have anxiety, fatigue and brain fog, so kindly follow up with few more details....

Do you have any other symptoms rapid heart rate, shaking, decreased sleep?
What's the latest thyroid hormone level?

For further assessment, I would suggest you to consult with endocrinologist for detailed clinical examination. He may procure repeat thyroid profile as per evaluation to rule out hyperthyroidism or raised thyroxine level. You may require regular hormonal level monitoring and dosage adjustment.

As Hashimoto's disease is a autoimmune disease i. e. our antibodies damage our own tissues. Most commonly, genetic factors are the main contributing factor and lyme disease is a infectious disease, so I don't think it might be the risk factor.

Hope I have answered your query....
Let me know if I can assist you further.
