Hi, I Have A Red, Itchy Rash For A Week.

Posted on Fri, 28 Jun 2019
Question: Hi, I have a red, itchy rash for a week. As some of it dries, other bumps keep coming. Some look like ant bites on my arms, but the ones on my thighs are more red and splotchy. I do not have a fever. I have had the shingles vaccine and I have been checking for bed bugs everyday with no sign of them on my mattress cover. I am also washing my bed linen after each night of use to be sure. I thought I had poison ivy or poison oak from working in my garden. It appears to have started with one bump on my arm that appeared to be a mosquito bite when I was outside. I have been taking a Candida supplement for 2 months, Zinc supplement, and the Collagen Peptides I added recently. I take Alive 50+ vitamins. I eat healthy with fresh vegetables and fruits (no junk foods or fried foods and very little sugar or processed foods). I usually have good blood pressure, a1c and cholesterol. I have not been exercising for the last few months. After a week, some have dried up but some new ones are coming

Brief Answer:
Eczematous rash, oral and topical steroid, antihistaminic

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query and reviewed the attached photographs.
It seems to be an eczematous rash.
I would recommend you to topical steroid like clobetasol propionate cream diluted in a moisturizing lotion in the ratio of 1:3 on the affected area twice daily and take antihistaminic like tablet cetrizine 10 mg twice daily for 2 weeks.
Also take a small course of oral steroid like tablet prednisolone 20 mg once daily for 10 days.
Steroidal medicines are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
I hope to have answered your query and would be happy to answer any further queries.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
