Hi I Have An Ectopic Pregnancy And They Want Me

Question: Hi I have an ectopic pregnancy and they want me to take methotrexate, to terminate the pregnancy. What happens if I refuse the medication? Is there a possibility of saving my child, like any procedures or anything? I read something online saying there is a procedure that can be done to transfer the baby. I’m really early like 3-4 weeks, they can’t see anything on my ultrasounds and are only going based on my hormones, is that normal?

Brief Answer:
Any fetus transfer is not possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.

Ectopic pregnancy cannot be transferred to the uterus surgically.

It will also cause abortion during the procedure. It is a life-threatening situation to continue with an Ectopic pregnancy. It is good that it has been diagnosed early in your case.

Taking Methotrexate to abort the fetus is safe and your doctor is guiding you correctly.

Hope this answer is helpful.
