Hi, I Have Asthma And For The Past Week I

Question: Hi, I have asthma and for the past week I have been having trouble breathing and chest pain along with pain in my neck and shoulders and back and have also been getting headaches. Could this be asthma related or something else. I don't have any wheezing, it's just hard to breath and makes me tired. I am on Advair daily and also have an inhaler.

I am also taking Wellbutrin.
Brief Answer:
Probably symptoms are related to asthma, follow the advice below
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your symptoms seem to be related to asthma.
I see through your query that you have already taken treatment for asthma such as Advair daily.
I would recommend adding to this treatment oral corticosteroids such as Prednisone.
They are the usual prescription based medication which can give quick relief.
They're used only on a short-term basis (rescue medications).
It'll be better to avoid factors that can trigger asthma symptoms.
Use an air conditioner/purifier at home, which reduces the amount of airborne pollen.
It's advisable to clean home regularly (if not done) and cover your nose and mouth if it's cold outside.
Cold air can also trigger the symptoms.
Hope to have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
