Question: Hi, I have been Hallucinating a lot (seeing, feeling, and hearing things that aren't there). My anxiety has gotten worse because of it and not I am paranoid. Sometimes I don't know if I'm hallucinating or not and fear strikes me. It is getting harder and harder to convince my brain that it isn't real. I also realized that even when/ever since I was a little kid, I hallucinated. I just want some answers about it. Please help. Some things I was diagnosed with: ADHD, Depression, Anxiety.
Brief Answer:
Hallucinations can occur in depression and anxiety
Detailed Answer:
Hello
I can understand your concerns.
Hallucinations are a symptom of psychosis usually. But in case of severe anxiety or depression, the person experience some fragmented hallucinations. It may be related to any bodily sense, hearing, smelling, visual, touch.
You have mentioned that you do not have paranoia.
Can you make out what things do you see or hear or feel while hallucinating?
How is your mood most of the times in the day?
Any other symptoms of anxiety?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks.

I usually feel like a knife stabbing me or bugs crawling all over me or someone holding me don and I can't get up at all and I start to hyperventilate when this happens or sometimes I feel like something is trying to pull of bite my leg off. My moods are odd. I would be happy and all the sudden feel down or mad about something or even nothing. I also get all the sudden tired for some odd reason in the day but wide awake at night. I get startled easily. Like once someone was walking up behind me and I looked back and saw them, when I looked away I all the sudden got scared and then turned back around and screamed ”oh God please no!” because for some reason I thought they were gonna hurt me or attack me. I sometimes feel like I can't control myself, I am hallucinating and then all the sudden I feel that I'm smiling, I was scared, I didn't want to smile. It was like something forced me to smile. I see things like figures of people for a split second, colors when I close my eyes, light moving around even though it is dark, thinks in my room moving, the walls moving, things getting bigger and smaller. I hear things like voices whispering or noises like banging or scratching or walking. It is so scary and my brain can't tell what are hallucinations and what is real anymore. What is happening to me? I'm so so scared.
Brief Answer:
Anxiety vs prodromal phase of psychosis
Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
Sorry for late reply.
The details which you have mentioned are suggestive of severe anxiety. And it could also be a prodromal phase of psychosis.
I would suggest you to visit a nearest psychiatrist for detailed evaluation. Drugs like escitalopram(anti-anxiety) and olanzapine (in low doses, if needed) should help you. But these are prescription drugs.
Hope you get well soon.
Thanks
