Question: Hi,

I have been diagnozed with influenza, today is the 6th today. Since yesterday I haven%E2%80%99t had sny fever. Though I have a persistant dry cough and weird sweats at night time and randomly at day time. is it normal to be sweating when my temp is back to normal?

So in my opinion, you should definitely get done CBC (complete blood count).
If CBC is showing elevated WBC count then you should start higher antibiotics.

sorry let me clarify, he said, there are no antibiotics for influenza.

They were normal.
Your doctor is correct. No antibiotics for influenza as it is virus and antibiotic works only on bacteria, not on virus.
But influenza infection can lead to secondary bacterial infection and in this case antibiotics are given.

thank you for the info, I am still taking Doxycycline antibiotics just in case for my cough. do you think that%E2%80%99s a good idea?

And are these sweats commong after influenza fever is gone?
