Hi, I Have Been Experiencing Chest Pain And Rapid Heart
Question: Hi, I have been experiencing chest pain and rapid heart beat for a while now and couldn't figure out the problem. I went to see a doctor but they didnt seem to care much and said it's just probably because I'm about 45 pounds overweight. I have also been using minoxidil for hair regrowth for quite some time now and read online that it can cause all the symptoms I'm having. My question is will this go away now that I stopped, and should I see a different doctor

Chest pain and tachycardia is a rare side effect of minoxidil. If it is related to minoxidil it will settle once you stop the drug.
However other possibilities also be ruled out. You have to get an ECG too rule out cardiac causes and a thyroid function test (TFT) to rule out thyroid dysfunction.
Anxiety can be a common cause for these non specific symptom. Avoid unwanted stress and anxiety. Relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation can help a bit.
As of now you can stop minoxidil, and wait whether there is any symptomatic improvement or not. If symptoms persists even after stopping minoxidil, you have to consult a physician and get evaluated.
