Hi, I Have Been Facing The Problem Of Urgent/ Frequent

default

Question: Hi,

I have been facing the problem of urgent/ frequent urination for quite sometime now. No burning and no pain and no discomfort.. just full bladder. This occurs mainly when I am outside- walking and increases in winters. Started noticing this issue in last winters and it has started again now. Emptying the bladder before leaving doesn't help much as I need to urinate in every 15-25 minutes at times which hinders my activities. .. never felt this at night and never woke up from the sleep. sleep is peaceful and for long hours.
I do have a history of frequent kidney stones but haven't done any analysis to check if I have any at the moment.
Also have lower back pain
Patient of Aortic Regurgitation

Thank you.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX ..
Thanks for asking.I understand your concern.
Your symptom can be due to infection, neurological, or diabetes.

*Absence of symptoms like burning, pain, fever.. infection is ruled out.
-You need to get a glucose tolerance test... diabetes is typically presented with excessive hunger, thirst, and frequency of urination. GTT would find or rule out the possibility.

- Please get your urine tested for possible stones (routine, microscopy test)/, ultrasonography for residual urine...repeated irritation, damage to bladder mucosa&spincter...can cause incomplete voiding...more residual urine in bladder...this causes early filling of bladder and frequency)

- You also complain of backache, This raises the possibility of lumber spondylitis...pressure on nerve roots supplying the bladder..thus causing neurological irritation&repeated stimulation of the bladder.

*More frequency in travel is more likely to be more gravitational pressure of collected urine on the sphincter.
-Also spondylitis would be more bothering in moving conditions.
-Psychological fear to evacuate improperly...may also cause frequency. **In this scenario, you need detailed investigations on the given line.

Finding cause would ease exact management.
Please consult your family physician to start with, for basic analysis followed by needful referral to expert(orthopedic,/diabetic/kidney specialist ).

Hope that helps. Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks
