Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to an infection or thyroid gland dysfunction.

Anxiety can mimic this clinical situation too.

Do you have fever or cough? Have you measured your body temperature?

If this situation persists, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests:

- complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation
- a chest X ray study and pulmonary function tests
- thyroid hormone levels for thyroid gland dysfunction
- kidney and liver function tests.

A close monitoring of blood pressure values is necessary too.

Hope to have been helpful!

I remain at your disposal for any further questions whenever you need!

Kind regards,

Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Thank you for the additional information.

This situation could be just anxiety. It is well known that it can mimic all your symptoms, including the stomach pain and the bloating.

Anyway, recommend checking first thyroid hormone levels in order to exclude possible thyroid gland dysfunction.

In the meantime, I recommend taking a PPI (omeprazole, pantoprazole, etc.) to help with the stomach pain and avoiding caffeine intake or spicy food.

Taking a lot of water to stay well hydrated and having some rest can help too.

Hope you will find this information helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri
