Hi, I Have Been Sick Since Saturday Evening. Chills ,

Question: Hi, I have been sick since Saturday evening. Chills, then sweats. Can't find my thermometer so I don't my temperature. Been vomiting a couple time a day, just phlegm and acid. Today, I started getting pain on my left side, forward and a little above my hip. It's spread to the middle of my stomach and up towards my breast bone. I'm really weak and haven't been able to eat except a half a can of chicken noodle soup yesterday evening.
Brief Answer:
Probably a viral infection, follow the advice below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your symptoms seem to be related to a viral infection.
I suggest using an anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 40o mg three tablets a day.
I also recommend to use a mucolytic for the phlegm such as Mucinex.
I also suggest to drink liquids and use a plain diet.
You should rest and take a multivitamin supplement to boost the immune system.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Gurabardhi,
Thank you for taking the time to give me your quick reply. However, the pain continued to increase so my husband took me to the ER. With a CAT scan and blood work, we found that I have two kidney stones approximately the size of dimes. I was taken to a bigger city hospital and a stent was put in to drain my left kidney of infection. I was kept overnight to be administered fluids and antibiotics due to my high white cell count. I'm home now with oral antibiotics and instructed to see my PCP after the antibiotic course for lab work and a check up, and then the Urologist to remove the stent and destroy the stones. XXXXXXX C.

Follow up query explained below in detail.
Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,
I read carefully your follow up query.
As I see through your query the symptoms are related to kidney stones and infection.
I suggest to finish the cycle of antibiotics.
I also recommend to drink a lot of liquids and especially cranberry juice.
I suggest to use Ibuprofen 400 mg in the case of pain.
The symptoms will go gradually 24 hours after the beginning of the antibiotics.
Wishing you a good health.

Thank you for the instructions.
I have another question, with a little story first:
While I was at the ER I had an episode that the Personnel there attributed to my 103.7 temp. Apparently I went into a fugue state where I didn't know where I was, who the people where, including my husband of 35 years, and just sat there and stared around. They put cool cloths on my forehead and after about 10 minutes I came back around.
I don't remember any of it.
Today, after I had been awake for a couple hours, my left hand temporarily stopped being able to grip, I could put my fingers almost together but there was no strength in the hand and I couldn't rotate it to the right, inward. This episode lasted a few minutes and has happened three times. Thoughts?
