Question: Hi, I have diabetes 2. This morning my reading was higher than normal for the my numbers usually are. I took my met form in after eating, . Just a little while later I could tell my sugar was low. Took my numbers and a lot lower, went from 133 to 109. Started shaking a little, but was also having chills and my face and arms felt like I was flushing. Usually when my sugar is low, ill have some protein and carbs. Did this but have still been having flushing and chills. Also i do have high blood pressure. My last reading was 133/80. I was wondering could it be all the meds I take. All of them age for high blood pressure, diabetes, and hypothyroidism. Also I only have 1 kidney.
Brief Answer:
Decrease dosage of diabetes medications.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think the symptoms you were expecting are just related to low blood sugar. The blood pressure readings are normal.
I want to know what medications you are taking because metformine isn't much likely to cause hypoglycaemia episode.
Also having only one kidney while suffering from diabetes can make me think of higher diabetes medications concentration in blood.
Probably you may need to lower the dosage of diabetes medications.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
