![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Hi. I have had dizziness, waves of blurriness in my eyes for a year. I also have had hives for 5 months. I have seen many specialist in the course of a year. I also get very weak and shaky feeling. The Neurologist diagnosed perifial neuropathy and says the dizziness is caused by that. And he thinks the other issues are separate. I don't have ms or diabetes and inner ear problem was ruled out by an ENT. My primary care doctor thought my symptoms could be from the medication I'm taking, Effexor. I weaned off of that and have been off of it for 4 weeks now. My symptoms got worrse and still are. I get so bad that I can't go anywhere. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Possibly Lyme infection
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma’am, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but I would like to role out the possibility of Lyme disease which can cause rash, eyes and neurological symptoms in its chronic stage.. This is why I would recommend that you get a blood test to detect antibodies against Lyme infection and either confirm or role it the diagnosis. I hope you find this helpful. if you don’t have any other clarifications then please close the discussion

Yes. Your answer made sense. I would like to ask you your opinion on this. My Neurologist believes that my dizziness is from my perifial neuropathy that he diagnosed. I had no symptoms with the neuropathy so it's pretty mild. I have many other symptoms which are waves of blurriness over my eyes, chronic hives, pain in my legs and knees that comes and goes and weakness and shakiness that comes and goes.
I might have agreed with him with the dizziness from the neuropathy, but with everything else going on I believe it's all related to one thing. What do you think? Thanks. Barb

Brief Answer:
I agree
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma’am, hello again. I agree with you that all the symptoms seem to be related to similar etiology. If Lyme disease test came back negative then I would recommend that you get a blood test for antinuclear antibodies to exclude autoimmune illness.. I hope you find this helpful
