Hi, I Have Major Health Anxiety And Have Done For
Question: Hi, I have major health anxiety and have done for years, I really need some reassurance
I need some reassurance more than anything else. I know I have a problem and cannot stop searching symptoms online.
The problem Im worried about. I do a lot of work outside and Im sure Im always knocking myself and bashing into things, have a history of a bad back including pulled mucles and sore back especcialy in the winter. I also do a lot of heavy lifting or have done over the past few years.
I also have been looking after animals and straining myself when bending down to help them low to the floor on a daily basis for years on end I feel the soreness in my back and side a lot.
The problem is Im getting a sore side, its like the left side low down, the same time my back pain on the left is more than the right. It feels stiff and painfull on the scale of 1 to 10 the pain is about a 3 so its hardly bad but enough to know its there. Its not al the time and some days are better than others not feeling it at all in the side but usually always in the back a little, it has the same feeling as a stiff nervy stabbing ache pain its more nagging than anything.
I notice it more when, standing up from laying still for example in the morning, or during the night when I turn over in bed, so its defo a movement thing. Its moistly in the back and hip but I do feel it a little in the side like its a little sore the lower left abdomen going from back low to front like the external oblique muscle area, it soon goes after movement around but does return during certain movements throughout the day.
My question is, is it possible this pain is from my back radiating around my waist on the low left side just above the left hip. I also get a little left hip pain which could radiate down my left side towards the leg or groin. Is it possible that this is most likely a muscle and back issue?

Brief Answer:
This could be due to muscle spasm.

Hello thanks for using ask a doctor service
I can understand your problem. Yes its possible for low backache to radiate around waist and towards hips and ipsilateral thigh. Sometimes due to disc dehiscence pain with similar presentation can be seen.
Typically this presents with numbness around thigh, low backache of long duration and difficulty in walking.
In your case the pain appears to be exertion based in my opinion. This could be due to some muscle spasm.
Have you get yourself checked for this pain?
Any history of abrupt shooting pain while you were bending or lifting some weight?
Thanks
Please provide details in follow up.
